I was phenomenally pleased with the Masai Mara safari I took with Mara Gates. Not only did the company offer rates that are 20-30% below that of competitors, but they were very accommodating of my requests, and put together a great weekend for me and my friend. The accommodation and food was great, and the driver (Douglas) was very proactive in ensuring we had the best safari possible. He was always willing to wait and let us view the wild-life, and constantly communicating with other drivers about where to find some of the rarer animals (cheetah, leopard). Thanks to Douglas, we were able to see 4 of the Big 5 animals within a day, and have some unbelievable memories to take home with us. We really appreciate how even when outside the park, he was able to find wildlife for us to photograph along the road. Mara Gates really puts together a high-quality, affordable safari that makes them an easy choice. I hope they continue to offer such competitive rates as service as their reputation grows. Dear Agnes, Gerald, Maurice and Olias -
I wanted to let you know how pleased I was with our recent Kenya/Tanzania safari experience. I live here in Kenya, as a Peace Corps volunteer, and found Agnes to be extraordinarily helpful in planning this trip for my friends visiting from America.
We wanted to stay under $3000 for our ground arrangements, including Tanzania and Kenya stops, as well as airfare to/from Nairobi and Mombasa and I was very happy with the accommodations for  this trip- great food, great service.  The Wildlife Lodges at Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater were  wonderful, same for Amboseli Sopa, Lake Nakuru Lodge and Ol Moran Camp in Kenya.  It was great to top off the trip with a few nights in the luxurious Mnarani Club, overlooking Kilifi Creek.
Our guides were excellent - personable and quick to pick up on the needs and preferences of their travelers.
I was also impressed with the accessibility of the president of the company, Agnes, when we had some issues crossing into Tanzania. That's always the litmus test for me - how the inevitable little aggravations are handled.
I will certainly recommend Mara Gates to my friends and hope to have the chance to travel with you again.  Thanks again.

For the price of our Safari I feel we received remarkable value.

Our guides, Olias and Maurice were superb. Their knowledge of the animals, astonishing ability at spotting the animals while driving us safely on unbelievable roads and their care and concern for our needs and comfort were most greatly appreciated.

Our accommodations in Tanzania and on Safari in Kenya were extremely comfortable.

The food was outstanding with extensive buffets at each stop.

Agnes was wonderful to work with and always accessible for any unexpected event.

The final stop for a few days of pampering and rest at Mnarani Club at Kilifi Creek was amazing,

beautiful grounds, excellent food, caring staff and simple exquisite vistas of the India Ocean.

I think Kenny Lim already responded to your request, reflecting the experience our entire group had
but I thought I would add the following, which reflects my own individual experience.

Our Guide and Driver, Morris, was knowledgeable, helpful and an excellent driver, which made our
safari so enjoyable.
As we were departing Nairobi, I unfortunately left my mobile phone in the van and didn't discover
that until we were at the gates.  We called your director, Agnes Okelloh, and she immediately contacted
our driver, who found the phone in the van.  You offered to drive the phone to the airport, but we were
already through customs, so Agnes worked with me to arrange shipment for the phone back to US.

So what I find most noteworthy about Mara Gates Safaris, is not only do you provide great
safaris, you also go out of your way to help your clients solve those unexpected problems, like lost
phones.
I would highly recommend Mara Gates Safaris to anyone considering a Safari in Kenya.

This July I booked a trip to Kenya ( Nakuru, Masai Mara and Mombasa ), a group of 12 persons with Mara Gates Safaris. This was my 3rd booking in 3 years.
Everything worked according programm. WE had reliable vehicles with exellent game drivers. WE stayed in Flamingo Hill Luxury Tented Camp in Nakuru and in Mara Sopa Lodge in Mara. Both lodeges offered the best of services.
A small dissapointment, completely out of Mara Gates controll was that the water levet i Lake Nakuru was too high for the flamingoes, most of them had left for better conditions. But we expierenced what Nakuru National Park can offer.
Mara was a wonder as allways. Our to well qualified guides, Peter and Douglas managed to show us evry animal possible to see in Mara, including a young leopard walking on the road and a good wildebeast rivercrossing.

Mara Gates Safaris, Agnes and her staff are so easy to work with and so qualified in it that nothing ever goes wrong.

I am definetly going to work with Mara Gates next time I am arranging a trip to Kenya.
