Accommodation: This tour is based on accommodation at Ngorongoro Sopa, Tarangire Safari lodge, Serengeti Sopa lodge, Kirurumu Luxury tented camp but several other accommodation alternatives can be arranged to suit your needs. Itinerary Day 1 Day 2 Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa lodge Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge. A unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. Its landscape, originally formed by volcanic activity, has been sculpted by the concerted action of wind, rain and sun. It now varies from open grass plains in the south, savanna with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west. Small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout. The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and numerous other species of animals indigenous to the area Dinner and overnight at Kirurumu tented camp in Manyara After lunch, drive back to Arusha and proceed to Kilimanjaro for departure flight in the evening. The experience has been great in terms of animal sighting....Edwin was a top driver. In hindsight the trip could be even better and maybe we should have done Masai Mara first so that there is enough time for a decent lunch and sightseeing on the last day. We had about one hour for both lunch at the supermarket and some 20-minute shopping. |
