Client Testimonials

Our family of six persons booked our trip through Mara Gates and have just arrived home from a fantastic stay in Kenya. Initially, we were a bit skeptic, since Mara Gates is not a big company and does not have many online reviews. We were however, very reassured thanks to the very kind and quick responses from Agnes at Mara Gates. Every e-mail we sent her in advance was answered immediately and she was very flexible in putting together a great itinerary for us. We were probably not the easiest client, as we had many inputs on where we wanted to stay and see, but this was acoomodated very nicely. Upon arrival we were met on the airport by both Agnes and a driver who escorted us to the hotel in Nairobi. Although we had not booked in advance, they were able to arrange a guided trip of the city on very short notice - great service. Our guide for this excursion was Moses / Musa and he was very sweet, funny and knowledgeable.

Our safari lasted from Sunday to Saturday and we had Charles as our driver and guide. We could not have been more happy with him. His 20 years of experience as a guide was evident and he was professional in every manner. He knew everything about the different animals and surroundings, and also a lot about Kenya as a country and the surrounding countries. We visited the following lodges / places: Amboseli Sopa Lodge (2 nights), Serena Mountain Lodge (1 night), Lake Nakuru Lodge (1 night) and finally Mara Simba Lodge at Masai Mara (2 nights). All of the lodges were great, had fantastic staff and food! In retrospect, we would probably cut one lodge to avoid so much driving in between, but also the drive between the lodges was entertaining, because there is so much to see along the road.

We hope that more people can make use of Mara Gates! We will definitely recommend them to our friends back home. We found that they were very competitive regarding price and quality!

Best regards, Kim and Erik Gronneberg, Oslo, Norway
